Overview
The Photoshop Importer for the Embedded Creative Templates allows you to seamlessly load Photoshop files into the editor as a starting point, while retaining essential design attributes.
Here’s an overview of the main features:
- File Format Translation: The importer converts PSD files from Adobe Photoshop into the Embedded Creative Templates editor and format.
- Element grouping: grouped elements will be preserved in most cases.
- Positioning and Rotation: Elements’ positioning and rotation are accurately transferred.
- Image Elements: Images are supported, while image cropping is not yet available.
- Text Elements: Font family continuity is maintained, as long as the font files exist in the DAM. See this article.
- Shapes: Rect, Oval, Polygon, and Line shapes are supported, along with custom shapes that might experience minor distortion.
- Colors and Strokes: Solid colors, stroke weight, color, and alignment are faithfully reproduced. Gradient fills are not yet supported.
- Transparency: Transparency is preserved for seamless integration.
- Smart Objects: As long as they are embedded, Smart Objects will generally be preserved during the import, even if not in a format that is natively supported by the editor (e.g. .eps, .ai, .tif...).
This Photoshop Importer bridges the gap between Photoshop files and Embedded Creative Templates, enabling efficient transitions while retaining crucial design details.
