Bulk Download Resources

Modified on Wed, 8 Oct at 5:41 PM

This article provides an overview of the upgraded experience in the Bulk Download action. Please note that if you require permission to Download Resources, your experience will be slightly different to what is included below.

You can skip to find out more about specific aspects of this functionality below:

How to Bulk Download

The Bulk Download action is accessible through the Bulk Actions bar that appears at the bottom of your screen once you select a Resource (as with all other Bulk Actions). Users select the Resources they want to download, before selecting the Bulk Download action from the footer bar.

This is demonstrated below:

Downloading your Resources

If you have permission to Download all the selected Resources, you will be taken to the Bulk Download overlay (pictured below):

To Download your Resources, click Download Selected at the bottom right of the page (the yellow button above). Once you click Download Selected, all selected Resources will be zipped together and automatically downloaded as a Zip file to your device, depending on your location on the platform.

Customise your Zip file name

If you wish to customise the name of your download, ie the name of the zip file that will be automatically downloaded to your Desktop, you can add a custom name (of up to 40 characters in length).

This option is located at the top left of your Resources display on the Bulk Download overlay (highlighted below).

If nothing is entered here, then the default name for the Zip file will be your User Name and the time you clicked Download, as demonstrated in the placeholder text above.

File Naming

By default, files downloaded through Bulk Download use the Filename for each resource.

This setting can be updated in the Main Admin to use the Resource Name instead. Enabling this option will apply the change to all resource download actions across the platform.

If you’d like to make this change, please contact your Main Admin for assistance.

After Clicking Download

Once you've clicked Download, the overlay will close and take you to the screen where you selected your Resources for Download. Whilst this is happening, your Zip file is being created (ie the Job is being processed). Once this process is completed, the file with automatically be Downloaded to your device, according to your browser's default behaviour.

Note that when the files are unzipped, the image file name will also contain the preset name (if applicable) and the width x height of the file.

Please note that the length of time it takes to Download your Resources will depend on the number of Resources selected and the size of those files.

Tracking your Download Progress

You can track the progress of your Download, or access past downloads via the Jobs popup. This is located at the top right of your screen, accessible by clicking the loading icon. If there is an active Job (so something is processing), then there will be also be a count next to the icon. The screenshot below demonstrates where this icon can be accessed. Note that this will be accessible on both your Resources and Databases / Records List pages.

When you open the popup, you can view All, In Progress or Completed Jobs.

In the Completed and All tabs, you can download previous Jobs that have been completed. These are stored for 7 days before the Download Job will be removed from the list. Note that this does not use additional storage

The In Progress tab will display Jobs that are currently running, providing an indication of its progress.

Overview of the process

You can see an example of the process below:
