Resource Transformation Permissions

Modified on Wed, 8 Oct at 5:41 PM

To help maintain brand consistency and compliance, platform Admins can determine what specific Users or Groups can do when it comes to using Ad-Hoc transformations, and/or Transformation Pre-sets on Resources.

Click below to read more:

Configure Transformation Permissions

Within the settings of a group permission there are two new sub-resource modules (similar to Versions) which control that Group of users (or User-as-Group) transformation permissions:

Note: On enabling the main Resource Module permissions for the first time on a group, both settings will be automatically enabled

Ad-Hoc Transformation Configuration

Ad-hoc has one permission option:

  • Access: This allows users to apply Ad Hoc Transformations on Resources they have Access permission on, when options are available.

Transformation Presets Configuration

Transformations Presets as two permission options:

  • Access: This allows users to use Transformation Presets (e.g. when clicking download they’ll see the Presets)
  • Admin: This allows users to create, use and manage all Transformation Presets. (e.g. as is current when clicking download they’ll see the Presets as well as Add/Edit Presets)

End User Transformation Scenarios

Depending on the above settings, users will then find the below behaviour available to them:

Ad-Hoc Permissions level Transformation Preset Permissions  Outcome

None None
  • When clicking download the user will see no transformations options and will therefore download the file directly
  • When sharing the user will see no Transformations options and will not be able to share with transformations
None Access
  • When clicking download a user will be able to select from the predefined Presets list
  • They do not have the ability to use Ad-hoc transformations
  • They do not have the ability to create or edit presets
