Will Moving a Resource to a Different Folder Break its CDN Public Link?

Modified on Wed, 8 Oct at 5:41 PM

The Share / Embed Public CDN Link URL is constructed with a series of IDs used for CDN distribution & invalidation.

Here is an example URL:

https://cdn.intelligencebank.com/us/share/3RG1/ble6/EyB9/original/young-fitness-woman-runner-running-at-sunrise-seaside

This is what each ID corresponds to:

- Site ID: this allows to invalidate all assets of a platform at once (e.g. if public sharing is disabled entirely).

- Folder ID: this allows to invalidate all assets of a folder at once (e.g. if public sharing is disabled on the parent folder). As such, moving a file to a different folder location, will break the link.

- Resource ID: this allows to invalidate a specific Resource asset and any of its transformation presets (Global or Single).
