Video Indexer
Azure Video Indexer is a cloud application, part of Azure Applied AI Services, built on Azure Media Services and Azure Cognitive Services
Communication between a client application and an Azure Video Indexer account is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS is a standard cryptographic protocol that ensures privacy and data integrity between clients and services over the Internet. For more information about TLS, see Transport Layer Security. Video Indexer enforces a minimum of TLS v1.2. Customers can't control the cipher suits, we will pick the first match between the client and server going from strong to weaker.
By default, your data is replicated to the paired region into which you deployed the Azure Video Indexer instance. For region with data residency requirements, your data is always kept within the same region.
Video and audio files are deleted after processing as well as any metadata and insights extracted from them by Azure Video Indexer. You can fine out more on the Microsoft Video Indexer FAQ page
Azure Cognitive Services
All Cognitive Services endpoints, including the Computer Vision Image Analysis use HTTPS URLs for encrypting data during transit. For more information, see Transport Layer Security. The incoming data is processed in the same region where the Azure resource was created.
The Image Analysis processes images in real time. The images submitted to Image Analysis service are processed in real time, and the input images and results are not retained or stored in the service after processing. You can find out more on the Cognitive Services Privacy Page.
Data Regions
Each Azure region features datacenters deployed within a latency-defined perimeter. They're connected through a dedicated regional low-latency network. This design ensures that Azure services within any region offer the best possible performance and security.
